Literally the worst service I have ever experienced in all of London. Places like these are a disgrace to the hospitality industry. Here is the story:

First when we got there our friend (whose birthday it was) was told that he would not be let is for half n hour for walking up with drink in hand. This is still policy and we understand that but most people would just choose to look away.
The music inside is hardly entertaining, even for it's genre. The walkways are tiny and the bathroom is an absolute cellar. There are no bathroom attendants due to which there were large messes of toilet paper every where.
As the night progressed, we left the smoking area to go get our friend (and were assured we could get back in) and when we tried to re-enter they told us we weren't allowed in EVEN TO GET OUR COATS! They let our friend over the gate to say goodbye to our other friend who were still inside without notice they grabbed him and pushed him out on to the street into a group of people for no reason.

Security is all well and important when done correctly however these "security guards" are just trying to get their job's worth and being bully's to very innocent customers.

I would absolutely not suggest anyone to go near this hell-hole. You're better of somewhere that has a little more respect for their business.

Lovely little gem in one of London's most renowned neighbourhoods. The Jazz Café is a music venue unlike most of its surrounding ones in Camden. Tickets were £10 at the door, which is reasonable for a night of live music on a Saturday. There were breaks, of course, but the DJ filling the gaps between live sets was brilliant! It was a really refreshing experience, with none of the trashy music that you might hear in a club. I highly recommend Saturday's 'Night Thing' to anyone in the mood for disco, soul and funk for a change. Single mixers cost just under £6, but the venue itself is guaranteed to make a good impression. The staff were generally friendly, and there was plenty of room for people to dance or just lay back and enjoy the music. The decor was simple, but beautiful, and the atmosphere welcoming. Keep in mind that tables are reserved for bookings only, so do plan your visit ahead if you'd prefer to sit down for this. I'm knocking off a star because the staff failed to mention that the band would be taking a break from 1 to 2 am when we arrived at 1, but again, the DJ was great, so that wasn't much of an issue. The live show carried on until was closing time (3 am).

BEWARE. The bar does not have a drinks menu, so prices are not shown before your drinks are served and charged for.
Ordered some gin and tonics, standard spirit and mixer. £14 EACH. Dumbfounded why it's so expensive for a standard mixer.
Really unexpected since they don't have a menu, and can charge whatever they feel like charging. If at a cocktail bar where effort and thought goes into a cocktail, is happily expect to pay £14 or more for it, but not a g&t.
Attended a Cuban music event, bought tickets online. Was quite quick to queue for entry. No wait at all.
Venue and staff seem OK, no qualms there. It was quite warm in there because of people dancing and singing along. The entrance had a air con funnel but only discovered how cool it was there when leaving. The toilets downstairs have good air con and also speakers so you can continue to hear the music during your nature call.
But please beware of the drink pricing if you're attending a gig here. Seems to me to be dishonest bar trading practice.
