  Cozy traditional English pub with nice decor and atmosphere. Quite chill on a Saturday night. Good for a late dinner.

  Have not been for Sunday lunch here for a while, was very surprised to be able to book a table online on a Friday so called to confirm on Sunday.....yes had a table and now understand why. Almost empty on arrival, drinks and service fine. Sunday roasts were really disappointing, lamb shank ok, beef flavourless and roast pork (no crackling despite the menu saying there was) basically thick cut bacon and as dry as sand paper. They did change the pork and replaced with chicken which was ok. Potatoes were not cooked in goose fat (or if they were there are even bigger problems here) weird boiled flavourless baby parsnips, a spoonful of I think cabbage and everything drowned in the same gravy and only 2 potatoes (apparently roasted....). When we complained we were told the manager would come over.....no sign.....so when the bill came and with no concession or discount for the disgrace of a pork roast I approached the bar to speak to the manager who was evidently very reluctant to deal with an unhappy customer. After pointing out my disappointment he point blank refused to offer a discount, no apology, no concession and kept saying they had replaced the meal so therefore he wasn't prepared to do anything. True but will NEVER return. I have had many Sunday roasts here over the years and they used to be exceptional, if you hadn't booked a table by Wednesday you weren't likely to get in.....people always vote with their feet and so that is why they are almost empty on Sunday lunch now....

  Don't you miss the quiz night on Sunday at 8pm! Even though it is quite British based, it is an entertaining way to spend a couple of hours. The quiz is taken very seriously as much as the food (high quality kitchen, not a regular chain-pub) and beer (good selection of craft beers and ales). Being your own team mates and enjoy!

  A hidden gem. Lived in the area my whole life and never knew it was there. Nice pub, great beer (massive brewery tanks for one) and great food too. Imagine it's a great space to hire out too, with its light, airy interior.
