  Great gastropub with a lot of space and fabulous private dining room.
  Food and wine is excellent, but you can tell they mostly service City workers and bankers because the waiting staff upsell at every opportunity.
  Gulls eggs were on offer when we visited at £7.50/egg and we enjoyed the suckling pig between 4 at £45/head.
  I would recommend and eat here again, but be prepared to spend.
  Jugged Hare is part of a small group in London which are consistently good.

  Exteremly well executed pub food in a high-end Gastro environment which justifies the price tag by serving interesting/unusual British game and focusing on seasonal ingredients. Service was also very good.
  
  We tried the roast beef, goat shoulder, a side of black pudding mac n' cheese and rhubarb crumble. Everything was totally delicious; however for the price tag you might reasonably expect a dish or two go a bit beyond comfort food and provide some surprise/delight. Would easily give a fifth star if it took just little bit of inspiration from St John and played it a tiny bit less safe.

  I'd booked a table for 3 at the Jugged Hare to celebrate my birthday. The decor is interesting with taxidermy animals highlighting the use of game within the restaurant, the atmosphere is a little too loud & echoy from the wooden flooring, especially noticeable when busy. But, we were seated quickly, and received our starters within the usual 20min time frame, although one of the mains we ordered (a daily special) we were informed had run out despite it being only 2pm on the Sunday, and it swiftly went further downhill from there.
  Whilst we waited for our main courses to arrive, we witnessed every table around us served, their water refilled and in some cases bills paid and leaving before we had even got out mains. After asking the waitress twice where our food was, one of our party eventually got up and spoke to the manager. Credit where it's due, the manager was very apologetic and 15minutes later our food finally arrived. Although it tasted very nice, plenty of vegetables & good crispy roast potatoes, the 1hour 20minute wait for it had really dampened our spirits and put a bitter taste in our mouths, especially when I should have been enjoying my birthday. We were given free deserts (sadly the desert menu is too strange, full of items too unusual to be really enjoyed - bubblegum ice cream or blood orange cheesecake, seems they're trying too hard to be experimental) and the wine was also on the house as a result of our delay. But, when London is full of other restaurants serving excellent roast dinners at a cheaper price point, we've no desire to return here.

  Pricey. Good food if you like game. Fast service. Fills quick any lunchtime. Booking advised. Will with a visit. Generally I object to pubs that auto add service charge this dropped star
