Reviews about Roxy Bar and Screen
- 1 / 5By Davie OneEyeProbably one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The bar was filthy, cold and smelt awful. Plugs, leads, chipboard all left lying around the premises. Dirty curtains and decor. Food was inedible and brought over from the pub across the road, not even cooked on site!! I'm pretty sure there is a major health and safety issue there. Attempting to ignore all this and just watch the film, we saw not only 1 but 3 mice run across the floor in various directions. This was the last straw and we decided to leave. I work in restaurants and know filthy venue when I see one! I am honestly shocked and appalled they are still trading! Complained to management across the road only to feel like he had heard this complaint many many many times and felt slightly brushed off. As we were leaving, I don't see him running to fix these issues, but, returning to his game of pool!! Unbelievable. Booked through living social so will definitely be getting our money back on this!! I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!February 09, 2017
- 1 / 5By Dan MayTerrible experience. We were given tickets to go as a present, but left less than half an hour into the film... Where do I start!? There was no tables available all were taken and we had to wait ten minutes to be sat. The table was sticky and not clean. We had to wait over 20 minutes at the bar to get served. We then waited over an hour for our food and even then the food that came out was wrong. We couldn't hear the film from the noise of the serving area and bar directly behind us. Everybody else was complaining, they are understaffed and customer service is non-existent. Completely agree with the majority of other reviews - AVOID AVOID AVOID.November 15, 2016
- 1 / 5By Michelle SwarbrickOrdered the roast lamb with roast potatoes, mix veg, wine gravy and Yorkshires. The meat was pretty good, but everything else was terrible; The gravy tasted like viniger, the potatoes were barely roasted, baby carrots weren't cooked probably, Yorkshires tasted sweet and dry, and why on earth was there a courgette anywhere near it?!
Won't be returning.September 25, 2016 - 4 / 5By Alexander AdkinsAfter reading the other reviews I came here with low expectations but I was pleasantly surprised.
I'll start with the negatives - the place was a bit grotty and it was definitely under staffed which made the staff a bit stressed and slow.
But overall the shabby-chic atmosphere was quite cool and matched the film we were watching (Lala land) quite well, the food was standard pub food and tasted pretty good. Despite what other people were saying for London the drinks were reasonably priced and the wine £16 for a bottle of sauvingon blanc was pretty cheap!
Overall I had a good time and would go again.August 13, 2016
